The Academic Committee of Information Center for Worldwide Asia Research
(ICWAR) met on 25 April 2013 reviewing the research proposals and
deciding through secret ballot to fund 32 projects. The meeting was
chaired by Director Zhang Xiping of the committee and the participating
members include Bai Chun, Ding Chao, Guo Qiqing, Jia Wenjian, Li Xuetao,
Li Yonghui, Luo Xiaodong, Miao Chunmei, Shao Jianguo, Shi Tieqiang, Tao
Xiu’ao, and Zhang Zhaoyi.
The committee discussed and adopted the revised regulations on applying
for and managing ICWAR research fund. Professor Guo Qiqing, executive
director of World Language and Culture Research Centre and deputy
director of the ICWAR, briefed the participants about the 2013
applications, the annual amount of fund available, the assessment
requirements, and announced the academic works to be published with the
center’s financial support.
The members cast their votes and decided to fund 32 projects, including
21 researches, three academic works, one information collection, and
seven academic meetings. These projects cover 11 academic studies of
philosophy, literature, history, politics, sociology, translation and
interpretation, journalism and communication, education, psychology, and
international studies. The faculties and researchers from 17 colleges
and departments at Beijing Foreign Studies University filed applications
for ICWAR fund this year.
